Traveling

Life is short and we have not too much time for gladdening the lives of those who are traveling the road with us. Oh, be swift to love, make haste to be kind.

Talons Rubber Cement

My friend Dolores Braun sent this to me. I couldn't resist sharing it here on my blog! It is the grand prize winner of the 1992 International Advertising Film Festival in Cannes: an 80-second spot from the Barcelona agency Casa-devall Pedreno & SPR for Talons Rubber Cement Flexible Glue.

Giving

One of the fundamental laws of prosperity states that as you give, so shall you receive. That's why it is absolutely necessary to be generous with your time, money, and attention.

Prosperous people are always givers. They are always looking for new opportunities to share their wisdom, their love, and the unique gifts that God has given them.

Make it a goal to leave everyone you meet better than you found them. Give them a compliment. Give them a chance to succeed. Give them a break. Give them something to laugh about. Give them love. Forgive them. There are a million gifts to give.

By first giving, you activate the law that guarantees you a prosperous life.

Progress

We should so live and labor in our time that when what came to us as a seed may go to the next generation as blossom, and what came to us as a blossom, may go to them as fruit. This is what we mean by progress.

The Union of All Life

Spirit, which is Life, is present everywhere. On the mountaintop, in the valley, in the desert, and in the ocean, there is no place where Spirit is not. In whatever direction I move, I move in Spirit. Spirit is in everyone I meet. Seeing Spirit everywhere, I keep my consciousness open and alert so I may better understand the union of all life with its pure and perfect Source.

Chessie the Railroad Cat

Chessie the cat was one of the best-known railroad advertising mascots of the 1940s and 1950s. The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway declared that on their passenger cars one would "sleep like a kitten."

My new kitten Angel looks a lot like Chessie.

Completing Kindergarten

Friday was the last day of Kindergarten for the students in Mrs. Ahlborn's class and it was the last day of the eight weeks I taught the class while Mrs. Ahlborn was on maternity leave. It was an exhilarating experience to work with twenty five-year-olds every day. It was exhausting, too, but don't tell anybody!

As Mrs. Ahlborn presented certificates of completion to the children I took pictures of them and so did the parents, grandparents, friends and relatives attending the ceremony. Here is Yostin receiving his certificate. Oh happy day!

Growing Up

The measure of a person is not determined by a show of outward strength or the volume of a voice or the thunder of an action. It is to be seen rather in terms of the strength of the inner self, in terms of the nature and depth of commitments, the sincerity of purpose, and the willingness to continue "growing up."

The Rhythm of Life

I am one with the rhythm of life.
There is nothing to be afraid of.
There is nothing to be uncertain about.
I am at peace with myself.
I am at peace with everyone around me.
I am at peace with the world in which I live.

Zen Meditation

I breathe in, and I am the flower.
I breathe out, and I have its freshness.
