Birthday

I attended my father's 95th birthday party today at an Italian restaurant in Occidental. It was fun seeing the family--especially my nieces and nephews and their children. Mom and Dad have six great-grandchildren now. Whew!

Sunrise

In many spiritual traditions, sunrise is a sacred moment. It is the time of the day when nature wakes up from its nightly slumber. Birds sing and the journey of life begins for another day. At a mythical level, there is a death and a rebirth. The night that dies becomes a part of our collective memory. The day that is born brings hope and joy.
