Oli and a Snail

Here's another picture from Leanna. She says,
My nephew Oliver is a "do no harm to any living thing" kid. He saves snails and even catches Japanese beetles, the bane of my garden, and puts them in a bag and takes them to a pond. He says it isn't good for me to kill them. OK. So I have holes in my cannas.

Bouquet

I received this beautiful photograph today from my friend Leanna Landsmann in upstate New York. Her summer garden is always a source of wonder for all who see it. And now, thanks to digital photography, you can see this colorful bouquet too!
Thanks, Leanna.

Relax Into Your True Nature

Above all, be at ease, be as natural and spacious as possible. Slip quietly out of the noose of your habitual anxious self, release all grasping, and relax into your true nature.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present, and at one with those around you and with what you are doing.

Spiritual Practice

When we let go of our battles and open our heart to things as they are, then we come to rest in the present moment.

Limitless Abundance

The life each of us lives
is the life within the limits of our own thinking.
To have life more abundant,
we must think in the limitless terms of abundance.

Qualities Inherent in Happiness

When we release our sense of self-importance
all we lose is a parasite that has long infected our minds.
What we gain in return is freedom, openness of mind, spontaneity,
simplicity, altruism: all qualities inherent in happiness.

Your Greatest Gift to Others

Selfishly seek joy, because your joy is the greatest gift you can give to anyone. Unless you are in your joy, you have nothing to give away.
