According to Helen South, an Australian artist, a ladder can symbolize levels of spiritual awareness. She says a ladder may indicate communication between levels, or ascension to a higher spiritual plane. I have had this decorative bamboo ladder for decades. I don’t know if the seven rungs are meant to symbolize anything, but I’ve always enjoyed the idea that I can rise above feelings of doubt and despair by simply acknowledging the highest truth about myself: I am one with the Perfect Source circulating in me, guiding me in love, joy, and complete self-expression.
